How to Make Pistachio Ice Cream

Pistachio Ice Cream is a classic summer dessert. It’s easy to make and tastes amazing!

The nutty flavor of pistachios makes this recipe a must have. It’s sweet and creamy, but it also has a hint of saltiness from the roasted pistachios.

To make this recipe, you’ll need: milk, heavy cream, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla extract and pistachio paste (or chopped pistachios). You can find pistachio paste in specialty baking stores and online.

Heat the milk, cream and sugar in a medium-sized pot over low to medium heat until the sugar completely dissolves. Set aside to cool. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until smooth and then add a small amount of the hot cream mixture to the yolks while whisking constantly. When you pour the tempered egg yolks back into the remaining cream mixture, stir until the custard thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

When the custard reaches 170 degrees on an instant-read thermometer, remove from the heat and cool to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight, stirring occasionally to help prevent a skin from forming on the surface of the custard.

The custard can be prepared up to 2 days ahead and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. When ready to churn, pour the mixture into the bowl of an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s directions.

Churn for about 20 minutes or until the mixture is thick and creamy. This will vary depending on your ice cream machine, so it’s important to follow the instructions closely for best results.

After the pistachio ice cream is churned, freeze it in an airtight container for at least 6 hours or until hard. When you’re ready to eat it, scoop out the desired amount and serve immediately!

Making this ice cream is as simple as can be, and you can even use a blender to mix the ingredients. You’ll need to let the mixture cool down before churning, but it’s worth the effort!

To make this delicious ice cream, you’ll need: milk, heavy whipping cream, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla Extract and pistachio paste. You can find pistachio paste (or chopped nuts) in specialty baking stores and online.

The nutty flavor of a pistachio is a great addition to any ice cream. It has a mild, sweet, and nutty flavor that goes well with any other nut flavors.

You can make this ice cream with either a regular or frozen pistachio paste, but you’ll want to use the freshest quality pistachios possible for the best flavor. It’s also important to note that some brands of pistachio paste can contain added food coloring, which could change the color of your ice cream.

1. Infuse the pistachios and cream: This step is crucial to get all of the pistachio flavor into the cream and milk before churning! The cream and milk will need to sit for an hour or so in the fridge, allowing the pistachios to infuse.
